Skiing in the Scandinavian alps
Hemsedal has a unique alpine feeling with high peaked mountains framing the little village. Here you find amazing skiing and miles of groomed slopes winding down from the three summits surrounding the ski resort.
Hemsedal is perfect for families and groups, travelling with skiers and snowboarders of different experience levels, whether beginners, intermediate or experts.
Here you can choose the difficulty that suits your skills, whether you prefer wide and easy slopes, snowparks, off-piste skiing, moguls or steep and challenging slopes. Hemsedal’ s longest ski run is 6 km and graded green (easy), starting at 1450 meters above sea level and ending at the Hemsedal Alpin Lodge afters a 810 meters decent.
Hemsedal offers excellent off-piste skiing that is easily accessible from the lift and the groomed slopes. English speaking off piste guides are available for skiers wanting to explore more of the mountain.
Hemsedal has three snow parks with a good variety of jumps and jib elements. The parks are ranging from beginner to expert and are popular among some of Norway’s best snowboarders and jib skiers. Hemsedal has a ski cross arena open to all guests, and a giant slalom arena with timer, where you can compete against friends and family, or you own time.
The large children’s ski area is located at the base of the ski resort with easy to handle ski lifts, gentle slopes, ski school and activities for children. Hemsedal also offers day care for small children (6 months – 8 years), conveniently located ski in/ski out.
