Beitostolen has a typical Norwegian mountain climate that varies with the seasons. Beitostølen’s goal is to be Norway’s best year-round resort with captivating activities for the whole family during all 4 seasons.


320 km cross country ski trails, snow park, lifts, family-friendly slopes, a large variety family-friendly activities, challenging slopes await you. Here you do not need a car. In the mountain village of Beitostolen you have walking distance to everything; walking distance to the slopes, trails, dining experiences, cultural activities, entertainment and anything else adults and children dream of.


We are known for our family friendly slopes, but you find challenging slopes in Raudalen right across the valley. Two of the ski slopes are lit, and some evening the keenest skiers run long after the sun has set.

Situated in the very heart of Norway, with wonderful views over the Jotunheimen National Park, Beitostølen is a truly unspoiled – and unique – mountain village. Families are particularly well catered for at Beitostølen, and due to the unique range of activities on offer, the resort is an excellent choice for parents and children alike.


When it comes to convenience you can’t beat the mountain village Beitostolen – 45 mins from the airport, all the accommodation really close to the ski school and lifts. Families love it because of this, the gentle ski terrain and the wide array of winter activities – it’s impossible for kids to get bored here.

It’s also wonderful for those learning to ski – there are great value learn to ski packages and the wide, long green runs are perfect for practising. The cosy ski village at the base of the slopes has all you need – 3 supermarkets, a couple of ski and souvenir shops, a handful of restaurants and some welcoming bars and pubs. Once you’ve visited this charming Norwegian resort it’ll be hard not to return.

Things to do


Beitostolen prides itself on their huge array of activities. We put together a weekly events calendar with things to do on each day, some of which are free.



Winter activities without skis:
We offer many fun activities that do not involve skis, eg. dog sledding, tobogganing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, snow rafting, try your luck at ice fishing or have an adventurous night out in nature with Lavvu and good food over open fires.
After ski: In the afternoon apres ski at one of the the cozy pubs or bars in the center, on weekends and high season live band makes good atmosphere in the mountain village.



Explore Jotunheimen in the summer when the sun melts away the snow, revealing a stunning scenery cut out of a Norwegian folk tale!
The varied landscape arising from quiet roads, forest paths and water into steep mountain passes give you plenty of choice whether on foot, by bike or hanging from a cliff.
Out summer park in the very centre of the village offers a wide variety of activities: Downhill Carting, Alpine Sledge and frisbee golf in the slopes, mini high rope track, giant spring board and kiddie bumper boats for children. Other popular activities in Beitostølen are: High rope course, boat trips, hiking, rafting, canyoning, via ferrata and climbing. Our local cheese factory and local mini-brewery open to visitors. The national scenic route 51 over Valdresflya passes by Beitostølen.



We offer a SPA and fitness center and the largest swimming pool 25 x 12.5 in a mountain resort in Norway.

Radisson Blu Resort Hotel Beitostølen

A traditional first-class full service resort situated at the bottom of the slopes in the centre of Beitostølen. close to shopping, restaurants, ski lifts and other attractions. The hotel offers 123 rooms and suites and 7 conference rooms, the largest can accommodate up to 650 people. Wireless Internet Access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel also offers a fitness centre, SPA, 25m swimming pool, sauna, solarium and indoor squash hall.

Radisson Blu Resort offers seven meeting rooms, five of which can host up to 60 individually or combined to accommodate up to 250 people. ‘Beitohallen’ is the largest hall and can accommodate 650 people. Smaller groups can take advantage of two of our smaller meeting rooms.

Food & Beverage:
At the hotel, you will find the restaurant ‘Mogop’, and in addition to the hotels Lobby-bar, there is a disco/nightclub on the hotel’s lower ground.

Body & fitness:
Joanne’s Spa and our Fitness centre is a modern Well Being Centre equipped with a treatment- and fitness-centre. Also available on site is a 25m swimming pool, sauna, sun beds and squash courts.

Bergo Hotel Scandic Partner

Bergo Hotel is situated in the centre of Beitostølen, and is decorated by local artists, in keeping with traditions and contributing to its cosy feel. It offers hotel rooms, apartments as well as cabins for your overnight stay.

In addition, the hotel houses a heated garage and has an in-house sports store and hair salon.
Wireless Internet Access is also available in the hotel rooms, apartments and public areas.

Food and beverage:
On the first floor of the hotel, you will find ‘bareKos Restaurant, which is a continental a la carte restaurant. In the basement, you will find ‘Jegersalen’ bar and disco.
‘Svingen’ is the hottest after-ski at Beitostølen, and is situated very close to Bergo Hotel; they are all under one roof .

Bergo Hotel is suited to host smaller corporate gatherings whether it is for team building, development or conference-purposes. ‘Villmarkssalen’ (80 pax) with a fighting spirit, decorated with old weapons and mounted wildlife, and is an excellent place to host parties, conferences or courses.

Getting there


The mountain village of Beitostolen is located in Valdres, between the cities of Oslo and Bergen, just a three hour drive by car or bus from Oslo. It is thus very easy to combine your vacation with a visit to mountain Norway.

From Oslo:

If you come by plane to Oslo Airport Gardermoen, there are trains or buses to Oslo Bus Terminal, where you’re easily find the transfer to Beitostölen with the bus express Valdresekspressen. This terminal is also within easy reach if you come with Color Line from Kiel, DFDS Seaways from Copenhagen or Stena Line from Frederikshavn. You can also rent a car. It is about three hours drive. Bus transfer from Fagernes Airport Leirin to Beitostølen is only 45 min.

From Bergen:

By car or by the Express bus EastVestXpressen you can easily go to Beitostölen. It is about four hours drive.
